My name is Michael Bona and I am a resident of Castle Pines North (Daniel’s Gate). I have been watching the news for updates on the incorporation battle with Castle Pines Village and see that things have moved forward in a positive direction recently. Kudos to the team that helped make this happen!

I have a question about the city name if Castle Pines North does in fact incorporate in the future. Have names other than Castle Pines North been considered? I’m asking this because I think a more simple name like Castle Pines (without North) would be better for our new community.

Thanks for your time.
Michael Bona

Dear Michael,

Thanks for your positive feedback on this matter. We appreciate it.

As for the name, all our incorporation documents have the word “North” on them. Historically, that has been the name of this area, so we therefore have some legal “claim” to that name. The steering committee for incorporation chose to keep this designation in order to avoid any possible legal challenges (and therefore added expense) to the filing.

The Village filed their petition under the name of “Castle Pines” and made announcements to do so before we filed our petition. Although things with the Village have worked out in a cordial matter, the filings will remain the same in an effort to keep things as uncomplicated and inexpensive as possible. Thanks for writing.
