New Paint, New Floors and a New
Playground

BRE received a ten-year face-lift over the summer. Fresh paint and new carpet bring added warmth to the school. The playground is undergoing a complete overhaul, too, and should be completed by early October.

According to Christy Smith, registrar at BRE, the playground project was delayed by about one month. Once the playground is complete, it will be on par with current District elementary playground plans.

Book Fair

The BRE book fair is planned for October 5 through October 11. Check with the school for specific times and activities.

Rock Slide Conditioning Classes at BRE

Ready, set, condition! BRE students can get ready for the Rock Slide and learn the importance of staying hydrated, eating well and staying active all at the same time. Parent volunteers, who will oversee the conditioning classes, hope to inspire kids to be and stay healthy while focusing on overall wellness.

Rock Slide conditioning classes will meet on October 3, 10, 24, 31 and November 7 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the gymnasium. After stretching and warming up, the group will run or walk around the perimeter of the school (weather permitting).

The cost to participate in the BRE Rock Slide conditioning program is $10. Half of the funds collected will be used to purchase training incentives to keep the kids motivated, and the remaining amount will be donated to the physical education department for field day equipment.

This is a great opportunity for all organizations or groups to get involved - such as cub scouts or brownies - to team up for healthy fun. Parents and siblings are welcome to join BRE students for the conditioning classes.

Registration forms were sent home in Friday folders in September. Lost the form? No worries - just show up on the first day of class with the $10 fee.
