This summer, Business in the Pines created Market in the Pines, an open air-style artisan markets which debuted in Castle Pines North (CPN). CPN residents and visitors took to the streets for Market in the Pines on June 9, July 14, August 11, and September 8.

According to Carla Kenny, vice-president of Business in the Pines, the markets created a fun excuse for families to visit the CPN business district. “From unique handmade items to fresh produce, there was something on hand for everyone,” said Kenny.

Castle Pines Village Realty, Business in the Pines, and the Castle Pines North Master Association sponsored Market in the Pines. Additional thanks to Chuck Lowan and Castle Pines Executive Suites, Castle Pines Orthodontics, Castle Pines Dental Care and Castle Pines Family Dentistry for allowing Business in the Pines the use of their land for all summer Markets, and to Bumgarner and Linn Orthodontics and Fox and Norwood Pediatric Dentistry for providing the jumpy castle. The CPN Safeway and Starbucks stores donated water, donuts and coffee for each of the markets.

According to Sharon Kollmar, president of Business in the Pines, the markets will return to CPN next summer. “The feedback from the community was very positive and we are excited to plan the markets for next year,” said Kollmar.

Vendors were so pleased with the markets that several will return for Octoberfest, which is planned for October 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the CPN business district.
