Rock Slide Conditioning -

Prepare for the annual Rockslide race by participating in Timber Trail’s conditioning class, to be held throughout the month of October. Classes will be held at 8 a.m. and will be free of charge. For more details, contact Stacia Wilkins at .

Come Celebrate -

The Fall Carnival has replaced Timber Trail’s annual fall fundraiser, The Taste of Timber Trail. The carnival will be held on Saturday, October 6 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. (rain date October 20.) “We have contracted with all new vendors this year and have new attractions such as a rock climbing wall, bungee trampoline, Jacob’s ladder, Sports Cage (measures how fast you pitch!), and professional face painters and temporary-tattoo artists,” said Jill Buck, president of the Timber Trail Educational Alliance (TTEA).

Goodbye Ms. DeLorbe, Hello Mrs. Gnaegy -

On August 4, Assistant Principal Molly DeLorbe married Bob Gnaegy. “We want to congratulate Mrs. DeLorbe and her husband,” said Principal Michelle Radke.

Good Sports -

After a summer full of transitions, things at TTE have settled down, and all “specials” (music, PE, technology, and art) have been staffed. The library is still in need of a librarian.

As school began, a few classes were held in temporary houses while new mobile classrooms were being prepped.

“Our two third grade C track teachers, Lisa Plantico and Marci Imel Thies, volunteered to teach in our new mobile classrooms this year. Occupancy of the mobile was delayed at the beginning of the year, which required much cooperation and flexibility on their part. They took everything in stride and with a smile on their faces,” said Radke.

Learning Tree -

A new fundraising effort, The Learning Tree, has gotten off to an auspicious start. Intended to replace the Spring Silent Auction, The Learning Tree is meant to ease the burden of planning a costly and complicated event and instead simply asks families to donate cash directly. As of press time, the Learning Tree had generated $11,000 for TTE.
