Q:  Where is my polling place?

This year’s election is an all-mail election.  There are no polling places.  Ballots can be mailed or returned to the Elections Office.

Q:  Will I be able to vote in the next election?

Active, registered voters will be mailed a ballot for this year’s election.  An “active” voter is someone who voted in the November 2006 general election.  If you did not vote in 2006, you should have received and returned a signed signature card in the spring of 2007 to the Douglas County Clerk and Recorder.  IF YOU ARE NOT AN ACTIVE VOTER - YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A BALLOT - EVEN IF YOU ARE A REGISTERED VOTER.  If you are not active, or you are unsure of your status, call the elections office at 303-660-7444.  Active status must be secured by October 9, in order to vote in this year’s election.

In addition, the deadline to register to vote in Douglas County is October 9.

Q:  What if I don’t get a ballot in the mail?

First, verify registration prior to October 9, by calling 303-660-7444.  Ballots will be mailed on October 12, and should be received no later than October 22.  If you don’t receive a ballot by that date, call 303-660-7444.

Q:  What if I’ve moved or changed other pertinent voting information?

Changes to a voter’s information must be received in writing.  Voter registration forms are available at the elections office, 301 Wilcox St., Castle Rock, and are also available on the website:  www.douglasvotes.com.  If you have moved to Castle Pines North (CPN) since the last election in 2006, YOU MUST update your address in writing and have your forms turned in to the elections office no later than October 9.
