City of Castle Pines North City Council Ward 2 Joseph “Chip” Coppola
What have been your contributions to the Castle Pines North community? Back in 1993, I was recruited by the manager of the Metro District to represent the homeowners as their attorney, working with the Metro District, to help restructure the Metro District bonds. I did this for free. I was on the Montessori School and Foundation Boards; negotiated to buy their land, and then oversaw the development of the Montessori school. Most recently, I was very involved and participated in the incorporation effort and have been involved with the Lagae developer’s planning for a City Park. What qualifications would you bring to this position? I would bring fiscal caution. Meeting the needs of the City with very limited resources will be a challenge. I would bring openness, honesty and equality to all aspects of the office. I have learned this through my upbringing, my military service, through my church and by being a businessman. I worked for a U.S. Congressman, resolving constituent problems in Colorado and as a legislative assistant in Washington, D.C. I worked my way through law school as a state and federal lobbyist. I have been on metro district boards that restructured its bonds. As an attorney, I have represented clients at all levels of governments and have worked closely with staff and county officials. |
