What have been your contributions to the Castle Pines North community? My contributions to the CPN community include: Board Member and Executive Committee; Business in the Pines (leader of economic development efforts); Vice President of CPN Master Association; President of HOA1 Board; Vice Chair, Douglas County Sheriff’s Public Safety Advisory Committee (representing CPN); Director, South Metro Chamber Economic Development Group; Co-chair for South Metro Chamber Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Education Coalition (STEM-EC); President, Thrivent Douglas County Charitable Board (CPN projects); and Douglas County Schools Key Communicator Network (for CPN). What qualifications would you bring to this position? My education includes a deep knowledge of governmental accounting and law as well as finance and strategy implementation: a Bachelor of Science in accounting, law degree (JD)law practice included Colorado municipal law, Master of Business Administration (MBA), CSU Big Horn Institute (with focus on Colorado governmental finance), and Colorado Institute for Leadership Training (governmental budgeting). Over the past 30 years, my practical experience in finance and accounting has included: international financial manager with Novartis, a Swiss pharmaceutical company (budgets ranging from $30 million to $1.2 billion); investor relations professional, Ciba-Geigy, a multi-national chemical company; financial systems consultant, Ernst & Young, a Big 4 accounting firm. Currently I am the Chair of Graduate Business and Accounting at the University of Phoenix (Colorado). |
