City of Castle Pines North City Council Ward 1 Bill Porter
What have been your contributions to the Castle Pines North community? I was the first board member for North Lynx, and a member of the first architectural review committee. What qualifications would you bring to this position? I have a strong background in decision making and organizational skills based on my experience with the fire department, military and 10 year tenure on the Board of Directors for a condominium association. I consider starting a new city to be a great challenge. There are dozens of issues to be accomplished before we can have a functioning city. I don’t believe in reinventing the wheel. There are two nearby communities that we can learn from, Lone Tree and Centennial. I’m sure they have had many successes and some failures also, and can help us avoid some of the pit falls. The first and most important job of our new council will be creating a charter. This will define how our city operates and makes its laws. We will need to determine a place of operation and personnel that will be needed to make everything come together and function. The beginning will be very important and time consuming for our officials. I will have the time and the commitment to make CPN a city that all residents can be proud of. |
