All residents of Douglas County are eligible to participate in a free prescription-drug discount program, which offers a 20 percent discount on retail prescriptions at designated locations throughout the county.

The program, which is sponsored by the National Association of Counties (NaCo), is open to all county residents regardless of age, income, or existing health coverage; participants do not have to be Medicare beneficiaries to be eligible for the program. Members can also save on pet prescriptions at participating retail pharmacies.

More than 57,000 pharmacies nationwide accept the card, including most chain pharmacies and many independents. For more information about the program, visit
