City Establishes New Safety Task Force
|
||||||||||
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) continues to provides law enforcement services to the new City of Castle Pines North (CPN), as it has in the past. City officials recently established a Safety Task Force to work with the DCSO and the community. The Castle Pines North Safety Task Force identified as its specific mission, “to keep the City of Castle Pines North a safe place to live and work for every resident of our community.” The task force is charged with the responsibility of working with the City Council to establish a contract with the DCSO for the provision of law enforcement services to the city, as well as to address a variety of other safety-related issues within the CPN community. The safety task force is comprised of volunteers from the community with varied backgrounds and interests, as well as representatives from the CPN Master Association and the City Council. Currently, the pool of talent on the committee includes former law enforcement, fire service, and military professionals, as well as educators, a financial advisor, local business owners, realtors, and a child safety specialist to name a few. The following is a list of some areas the Safety Task Force has identified as points of interest/concern for the CPN community: Neighborhood Watch programs; living with wildlife; wildfire mitigation; emergency management & preparedness; new fire station construction; school and child safety issues; and traffic safety and maintenance issues. Interested volunteers should contact Safety Task Force Chairperson Carol Langley-Finnegan, at
