Parks Authority Update 4-25-09
|
||||||||||
At their last Board Meeting the CPN Metro District did not sign the reimbursement agreement between themselves and HF Holdings, the developer for Lagae. Instead, they voted unanimously to approve the transfer of the $1m budgeted line item to the Parks Authority. The Parks Authority is pleased they honored a commitment made several years ago and look forward to putting the money towards grading and water conservation items. This means that the Parks Authority can now move forward with building a new park in CPN. It also means that there is no longer any financial incentive towards building Lagae Park, but in fact we should now consider whether Lagae Park or the previous option of Castle View Park would make the best addition to CPN. Ultimately the Parks Authority would like to see both sites developed into parks but we can only move forward with one at a time, and in fact, we should consider the future of building and financing parks in CPN once the new park is under construction. Please note the next Parks Authority Board meeting is to be held on Thursday May 28th, at 9am at the Community Center. The Parks Authority would welcome comments and thoughts from the community.
