Thank you for sharing with our invaluable companions and neighbors.

We've placed them at various CPN businesses and nearby areas. We are counting on your generous spirit.

Who are we?

Ground digging began in a special ceremony for the new animal shelter in Castle Rock on August 22nd. The new 16,000 sq. ft shelter will open in the spring of 2002. It is the first animal shelter of its kind for Douglas County, pulling together efforts from many dedicated folks. The promise of something better for our companion animals has begun. (tell me more)

Castle Pines North - a community of dedicated animal-lovers - formed a response group, the CPN DC-DFL Fundraising Group - as a way of actively participating in the realization of this shelter.

We have a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the success of this endeavor and to have an area of the new shelter named after our community - contact us for more information about this legacy opportunity.

Kudos and congratulations to everyone who worked tirelessly. We ended up raising over $4,000 for the Dumb Friends League Douglas County Shelter in 2001! Thank you everyone for all your participation and give yourself a huge pat on the back.

Fundraising is still going on
The Buddy Center opened on April 13 at 4556 Castleton Court in Castle Rock. Named for a dog that belonged to donors Dob and Debbie Bennett, the $3.5 million facility will provide shelter for up to 5,000 stray and abandoned animals a year. In addition, the center will facilitate the adoptions of dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, small mammals and birds; as well as provide education programs and pet-behavior classes; host seven-day lost and found services, and construct animal neglect and cruelty investigations.

To assist in the ongoing fundraising efforts of the shelter, commemorative tiles are for sale for $500 to $1,000. For more information, call Donna Mlinek at 303-696-4941, ext. 367.
