The Castle Pines Parks Authority is a governmental alliance between the Castle Pines North Metropolitan District and Douglas County. Its role will bring together all of the various entities needed to plan, fund and build active parks in our area.

The first two groups to become part of the Authority are the CPN Master Association and the Castle Pines North Foundation.

What are you going to do?
While working on getting our first park started, the Authority will also be soliciting community ideas for active parks, looking at the possibility of a recreation center, inventorying available sites and preparing a multi-year plan for funding and building facilities.

Where is the first park going to be?

The northeast corner of Monarch Blvd. and Hidden Pointe Blvd is the first area for an active park. (Map of the proposed area)

The area includes a future school site and has room for three soccer/baseball fields together with a playground, picnic facilities, restrooms, and trails.

    How can I be involved?

The Authority meets on the 2nd Friday of each month at 9:00 a.m., at the Castle Pines North Community Center.

Where is the money coming from?

Funding will come from a variety of sources, including developers, grants and donations. A portion of your Homeowner dues will be allocated to the Parks Authority. The CPN Master Association is providing substantial funding of the parks from our annual dues, which will increase by $18.00 per year. These funds will allow the Authority to do the initial planning and designing as well as help get the first parks built as soon as possible.

Developer Commitment
The developers of the remaining land in Castle Pines North have taken the lead in funding the first steps of the plan.

The Writer Corp., Village Homes, Continental Homes, The Genesee Co., and Falcon Homes have all signed agreements to pay $150 from every house sold in their remaining developments. The Romar West developers have also committed the same funding from the 272 lots to be developed on that property.

On the 280 acres of land being developed by Lynx Land, LLC, the fee will be $350 per house sold. In addition, the Lynx Land developers funded all of the early costs of the Authority and donated $40,000.00 to the plan.

The Urban Group, which is building out the first commercial development paid about $62,000 in parks fees to Douglas County which the Parks Authority hopes to bring back to our community. They have also pledged a contribution of $10,000 to the Foundation.

      What is the CPN Foundation?
The CPN Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization which will seek tax-deductible donations and grants for the construction and improvement of the parks.
