Master Association Services Help CPN HOAs
Communicate with Residents |
||||||||||
All HOAs must now create written policies outlining how the organization operates in seven specific areas, such as homeowner participation in meetings. The Master Association has distributed drafts of these documents to all Delegates and Sub-Association Presidents, and will adopt the policies at the December 8th meeting. Each HOA sub-association is also required to adopt policies. Other provisions in the law require each HOA to make governing documents and other records available to homeowners. The Master Association’s ongoing development of community communication tools puts CPN in a favorable position to comply. The CPN website and community e-mail alerts has been available to homeowners for six years. During the past year, the Master Association has made these communication tools available, at no charge, to CPN's neighborhood HOAs. Taking a tool that was previously built and providing access to each HOA sub-association is one way the Master Association benefits the community and gives continuity throughout CPN. In response to the Senate Bill 100 requirements, more HOAs have decided to use the HOA websites, and e-mail alerts to communicate with their residents. Each HOA in the community is responsible for compliance of Senate Bill 100. The Master Association formed a Senate Bill 100 Committee to work on Master Association compliance, and also invited CPN's neighborhood HOA board representatives to participate. Participants were able to take advantage of the Master Association's research on the requirements of the new law, and to share ideas, concerns and areas of common interest. To find your neighborhood HOA site use the CPN Master's HOA Finder. Contact your neighborhood HOA board regarding website content. For more information about Senate Bill 100 or HOA communication tools including neighborhood HOA websites, or neighborhood e-mail alerts, please visit the SB100 Committee web page or contact HOA Update at HoaUpdate@cpnhoa.org, or call 303-482-3078. |
