Family
Sports Ice Arena
Now
operated by the South Suburban Recreation District, this indoor
ice rink is open for public skating every weekday from 10
to 11:30 am and 1-2:30 pm. Music varies, depending on who
is acting as Skate Host. Big up-turned buckets help new skaters
get around the ice. (Avalanche fans might get lucky and see
the pros on the practice rink.)
In
Englewood on Peoria, one block south of Arapahoe.

Climb the Rock - Castle Rock's "Rock"
Not
every community has its own landmark suitable for climbing.
Castle Rock's rock is reached from Front Street. The parking
area has a picnic pavilion, so you can make a nice outing
of it. You can hike up the marked trail and rest at the top
of the hill, or the really adventurous can climb the actual
rock. On a clear day, you can see... pretty far. Free

Casa
Bonita
Who
wouldn't want to be chased around a restaurant by a gorilla
after eating not-too-bad-Mexican food (served cafeteria style),
watching gunfights, and being splashed by cliff divers?
Open
daily for lunch and dinner. Best bet is to get there for an
early lunch on a weekday for a table right next to the indoor
waterfall.
