CASTLE PINES NORTH HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, NO. 2
MINUTES OF THE MARCH 10, 2003 REGULAR BOARD MEETING
Rob Saxton called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Directors present were Sue Brown, Tom Baker, Kaye Sullivan, and Charlie Green & Todd Schuster. A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order. Ron Valiga of Hallmark Management was also present. The Board is operating with one vacancy.
The minutes of the regular and the January 13, 2004 meeting were approved on a motion by Sue, 2nd by Tom as amended.
SOCIAL:
The Valentines Party came in under budget. Surveys taken at the event showed a positive response for these types of functions.
WELCOMING COMMITTEE:

CLUBHOUSE:
Lynn Green reported that the clubhouse was used 15 times during the month. A bid to refinish the kitchen cabinets for $480.00 was tabled for another bid. Bids for flooring are continuing. On a motion by Kaye, 2nd by Sue, a new hot water tank was approved for purchase. The new tank will match the gallons of the existing unit.
POOL:
Outside memberships were discussed. They will be sold for $450.00 per family. This offer will not be advertised, however requests and contract commitments will be fulfilled. Options for guard hours were discussed. Options for hours were discussed Cyneil proposed Tuesday & Thursday hours, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, all other days 9:00 Am to 9:00 PM. The pool will remain open 1 week after Labor Day. The costs of these hours are expected to be (2897 hrs.) $1,600 more than last years budget. On a motion by Todd, 2nd by Kaye, the additional monies for the extended hours and an extra week at the end of the season was approved. 1 guard will be used for early morning, 2 guards for normal times and 3 for high usage times. Starting blocks are being costed out. They appear to be expensive. Pool rules will be sent to members and signed receipts of the rules will be collected.
MASTER ASSOCIATION:
There are now 2,752 homes in CPN. Easter egg hunt scheduled for April 3, 2004. Volunteers form each HOA is being developed to form a Safety and dog policy committee. The Library may have a book mobile in the King Soopers in the futures. The Metro District will have a water information meeting on 3/15 at 6:00 PM. A new water storage tank is being constructed on property in Castle Pines Village. Hidden Pointe litigation on going. Excel issues now in the Legislature.
TENNIS:

ACC:
On a motion by Kaye, 2nd by Charlie, Sue was authorized to follow up on the 7100 Cerney Circle issues.
GROUNDS:
Pine beetle spraying will be done at the end of the month. A bid for the replacement of the asphalt sidewalks around the clubhouse were discussed. On a motion by Todd, 2nd by Charlie, up to $22,000 was approved for the project. Ron will check on references of the low bidder.
FINANCE:
Hallmark Management presented the financial report for the month ending February 2004. The report was accepted as presented. On a motion by Charlie, 2nd by Kaye, a bid by the firm of Haugen, Springer & Company, P.C. to perform an independent audit of the Associations financial records of 2003 was approved.
Presentations by Rhino Sports for materials to expand the use of one of the tennis courts were received. Playground Structures presented proposals for a swing set where the volleyball court now exists, a pavilion where the basketball court is and picnic tables for the pavilion area. Planks & Ponds presented a pound less waterfall feature. The Board tabled action on all items for further research.
Todd addressed questions concerning the missing trails in the open spaces. Maps were used to show the proposed areas. Douglas County is pursuing the Writer Corporation (Standard Pacific) for compliance with the plat approval.
As there was no other business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 PM.
Minutes are unofficial until approved by the Board at the next meeting.
